Not only is the Icom IC-M34 VHF Marine Transceiver compact, lightweight, intuitive and dependable it is also designed to float on both salt and fresh water! It is almost as if the Icom Ic-M34 was wearing an invisible life jacket!  A lighter battery and a slightly shorter battery life is the trade-off! But definitely recommended for short expeditions!
